A micro-budget blockbuster about friends who lose their way in the Maryland woods looking for the Blair Witch, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT started off a decades-long found-footage craze after its 1999 release. The film succeeds largely because of the way in which filmmakers Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez toy with the audience by essentially showing them nothing. Nearly 25 years after its release, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT is still terrifying and a unique testament to the resourcefulness of its creators.
