GALAXY QUEST

What if actors in a STAR TREK-esque TV series were mistaken to be who they play on TV and called upon by aliens to save their planet? That's the ingenious premise of this cult hit that has, like the TV show from which it takes inspiration, spawned a devoted and deserved following. A film that manages to thrill both Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike, GALAXY QUEST is supremely intelligent and outrageously exciting and is led by the formidable talents of Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman who all give completely committed performances. Unexpectedly endearing and utterly irresistible, GALAXY QUEST is as much a send-up of STAR TREK as it is a love letter.

He won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film for "The Appointments of Dennis Jennings".
