**FREE** PH Awards: SEPTEMBER 5

Description:

Sponsored by Paramount Pictures.

On September 5, 1972, the calm at the Munich Olympics was broken when terrorists murdered Israeli athletes and took more hostage. Tim Fehlbaum’s tense, taut film, SEPTEMBER 5, takes a documentary-like approach to exploring the ABC Sports division’s coverage of the unfolding tragedy. Provocatively and intelligently investigating journalistic ethics and the limits of what can - and should - be shown on live television, SEPTEMBER 5 is propelled by Hansjörg Weissbrich’s sharp editing and an ensemble of excellent performances. SEPTEMBER 5 couldn’t be more timely and wisely stays away from coming to neat conclusions, making for a stimulating and frequently unnerving viewing experience.
