PH Cult Selects: EVENT HORIZON

Paul W.S. Anderson’s deeply disturbing opus, EVENT HORIZON, is one of the more imaginatively horrific and weird sci-fi films of the past few decades that burrows itself under the skin largely thanks to Anderson’s unique directorial vision and Martin Hunter’s jagged editing. Butchered upon release by its studio, EVENT HORIZON remains an unnerving, highly memorable film that follows a group of astronauts who go on a rescue mission to find a spaceship called Event Horizon and begin to realize that something horrible is haunting it. Lambasted by critics and ignored by audiences upon release, EVENT HORIZON has now been reevaluated and has proven itself to be highly influential.
