George Stevens, Jr. is a filmmaker and writer best known for founding the American Film Institute, the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award, and co-founding the Kennedy Center Honors. He served as Co-Chairman of the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities, has been nominated for 38 Emmy Awards and winning 14, was nominated for an Oscar, won an Honorary Oscar, recently received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and will be receiving the TCM Film Festival's Robert Osbourne Award.
