PH Awards: THE BRUTALIST

While epic in running time and scope, THE BRUTALIST is an intimate film about the cost of creating great art. Many films have been made about this topic, but few have had this one’s attention to detail and realism, largely from Judy Becker’s immersive production design and Lol Crawley’s lush, inventive cinematography. And then there’s Adrien Brody who leads this film with grace and humanity, finding endless complexity in his troubled architect, László Tóth. THE BRUTALIST is a film that will be studied and remembered for years to come.
